Twin Suicide Blasts at Pakistan’s Paramilitary Headquarters Kill Three FC Commandos

A major security scare unfolded in Peshawar on Monday morning when gunmen and suicide bombers targeted the Frontier Constabulary (FC) headquarters, resulting in the deaths of six individuals — three Pakistani commandos and three attackers. The assault triggered a massive security response as police and FC personnel rushed to secure the compound.

According to security officials, the attack began with two powerful explosions at the main entrance of the paramilitary facility. Following the blasts, multiple armed militants stormed the premises and engaged in a fierce gun battle with security forces.

FC commandos and police neutralized three attackers inside the building during the retaliatory operation. Authorities confirmed that at least two of the assailants were suicide bombers who detonated explosives while attempting to breach the heavily guarded headquarters.

Police reported that the FC personnel killed in the incident died during the initial explosion at the main gate. The attackers were later eliminated in the ensuing gunfight that unfolded inside the structure.

Sequence of the Attack

Timeline Key Details
Initial Attack Two explosions occurred at the main entrance of the FC headquarters.
Gunmen Enter Armed militants entered the compound after the first blast and started firing.
Counter-Operation FC commandos and police engaged the attackers and killed three terrorists.
Casualties Three FC commandos and three attackers killed; multiple areas cordoned off.
Ongoing Clearance A search sweep was launched to eliminate any possible remaining threats.

Quoting a senior official, Reuters reported: “The first suicide bomber triggered an explosion at the main entrance, and the second bomber managed to infiltrate the compound.”

Authorities have sealed off the area, with both the army and police conducting operations amid fears that additional militants may still be present inside the headquarters.

Zulfiqar Hameed, Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, confirmed the twin suicide attacks while speaking to Geo TV. He stated that the blasts occurred near the motorcycle stand and the main gate of the FC building — both located inside the secured perimeter near Saddar Market.

CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed added that a comprehensive clearing operation was underway to ensure no hidden threats remained. “The area has been completely sealed, and search teams are sweeping the compound,” he said.

The attack highlights the continuing security challenges faced by Pakistan’s northwestern region, where paramilitary and police forces remain frequent targets of militant groups.
