TFD – Dive into the escalating clash between Jimmy Kimmel and Donald Trump, featuring social media spats and biting humor.

Late-night TV star Jimmy Kimmel ridiculed former President Donald Trump in a new monologue on Tuesday. The likely Republican presidential nominee retaliated on social media on Wednesday morning, criticizing Kimmel for something that Kimmel did not do.

Trump referred to Kimmel as “stupid” and attacked the comic for both his overall performance hosting the Academy Awards in March and for reading aloud from the stage a social media post he had made mid-show that criticized how he was performing. Next, Trump asserted that Kimmel had viewed the tweet “just prior to him fumbling through the announcement of the greatest prize of all, Picture of the Year.”

Trump went on, saying, “To top it off, he forgot to say the famous and obligatory line, ‘AND THE WINNER IS.’ It was a CLASSIC CHOKE, one of the biggest ever in show business.” Rather, he opened the envelope and stammered around.

First of all, Trump’s assertion is untrue. It was the great actor Al Pacino, whom Kimmel had introduced, who gave the strange and abrupt performance to announce that “Oppenheimer” had won the Best Picture prize. Additionally, Pacino omitted to mention “and the Oscar goes to,” rather than the previous protocol of “and the winner is,” which was in place until 1989.

In response to Trump’s error, Kimmel cited his previous self-deprecation of himself as a “stable genius.” Kimmel posted on platform X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday afternoon. To be fair to our former President, many stable geniuses confuse me with Al Pacino..,” Kimmel wrote.

President Joe Biden and Donald Trump have been trading jabs over each other’s verbal gaffes throughout their campaigns; the Biden team teased Trump on social media for his most recent transgression.

A request for response from a Trump campaign spokeswoman was not immediately answered.

Conclusion

Despite the seriousness of political discourse, humor often takes center stage, as seen in the ongoing banter between Kimmel and Trump, revealing the power of satire in public discourse.
