Over worries about salmonella, Trader Joe’s-branded cashews distributed in 16 states were recalled.

A cashew product distributed in sixteen states under the Trader Joe’s brand is being recalled due to possible salmonella contamination.

Wenders LLC announced that certain of their Trader Joe’s 50% Less Sodium Roasted & Salted Whole Cashews product had tested positive for Salmonella after a routine investigation in a warning that was placed on the Food and Drug Administration’s website.

According to Wenders, no illnesses have been reported as of yet.

The impacted products are identified by the SKU 37884 and the lot numbers T12139, T12140, T12141, and T12142. Customers are advised to return them for a complete refund.

A recent analysis by benefits group Sedgwick found that food recalls have increased to a five-year high; however, experts speculate that part of this could be down to improved detection techniques. Many of the events also involved allergies that were not disclosed.
