Introducing their first kid, Halle Bailey and boyfriend DDG
The rapper and “The Little Mermaid” singer and her boyfriend DDG welcomed their first child together, as the proud parents announced on Instagram late on Saturday.
Bailey captioned the photo, saying, “The world is desperate to know you. Even though we’re only a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo.” She included laughing emojis.

“my biggest blessing by far 👶🏽❤️ son son.. never been so in love,” DDG wrote in a caption of the same photo on his Instagram account.

People magazine reports that in March 2022, Bailey and DDG—real name: Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.—went public with their love when the “I’m Geekin” rapper posted a sentimental Instagram tribute to Bailey’s 22nd birthday. In an August 2022 interview with Essence, the Chloe x Halle singer disclosed that she was contacted by DDG on social media, which led to their meeting.
According to People magazine, Bailey and DDG, whose full name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., made their romance public in March 2022 when the “I’m Geekin” rapper posted a sentimental Instagram tribute to Bailey’s 22nd birthday. The Chloe x Halle singer disclosed in an August 2022 interview with Essence that she received a message from DDG on social media, which led to their meeting.
“The best thing about young love is that you’re able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else,” Bailey said at the time. “I feel like things change when love gets more involved in your life. I have definitely discovered more within myself as a woman. … It’s a really cool thing to go through, but a transformative experience.”
