According to people who spoke to TFD, Paramount is investigating allegations that Sylvester Stallone made derogatory remarks toward background performers while filming “Tulsa King,” which is available onParamount+.

According to two people familiar with the project, the studio is looking into allegations that initially went viral on social media, alleging that Stallone called several extras on the TV show’s set “ugly,” “tub of lard,” and “fat guy with cane.

In another social media post regarding the set, Stallone was alleged to have overheard the director of “Tulsa King” telling him to “bring in pretty young girls to be around me.

According to two production insiders who spoke with TFD, neither Stallone nor the director have received any official complaints. According to the people, human resources staff members were made aware of the allegations based on the posts on social media.

Director and executive producer of “Tulsa King,” Craig Zisk, said to TMZ that “no such insults were hurled.”

TFD has gotten in touch with Stallone and Skark’s reps.

The social media posts containing the allegations seem to have started on Facebook groups concerning background actor experiences on the “Tulsa King” set. However, they became more widely known when television writer Julie Benson shared alleged screenshots on X, which was formerly known as Twitter. Benson claimed that even though she is not employed by “Tulsa King,” she was made aware of the accusations by a friend who serves as a background actor for the program.

Benson revealed a screenshot of an email purportedly written by casting agent Rose Locke, who claimed to have resigned from the show because “it was a clear toxic environment that I was not comfortable putting myself or background artists in.” Benson further claimed on X that a casting agent for the background actors left the show.

TFD was also informed by the sources that a casting agency had left the TV series.

Locke’s company, Catrett Locke Casting, acknowledged via a Facebook post on its official website that it had “chosen to part ways” with “Tulsa King,” but the statement did not provide an explanation.

According to a source close to “Tulsa King” production, the producers wanted the new actors for the second season to have the same tone and feel as the background actors from the first season, and the director had not specified what kind of actors she wanted. According to the person, the casting company’s resignation resulted from a rift that arose when the director requested that the casting agent submit pictures of the background actors.

This production source also mentioned that some background actors were requesting to snap pictures with Stallone while he was working.

As filming moves forward, the issue is currently being looked into through interviews with the cast and staff, according to both people who are aware of the present circumstances. Season 2 of “Tulsa King” has just started filming, and according to a source, the probe is not affecting the show’s schedule in any way.

As scheduled, Stallone and the filmmaker are still working together.

TFD was informed by a production source that Paramount takes pride in having a “fair and respectful workplace.” The other source, who is also aware of the probe, stated that the issue is being carefully considered in order to guarantee that everyone is content and feels comfortable on the set.

TFD has contacted SAG-AFTRA, the union that represents background performers, to inquire about whether the organization has been informed of any allegations pertaining to “Tulsa King” or if it is currently looking into them. The Casting Society of America (CSA) informed TFD that its membership does not include casting agents for background actors.

Produced by 101 Studios, the production studio behind Paramount’s mega-hit “Yellowstone,” “Tulsa King” is a Paramount production in association with MTV Entertainment Studios.

Representatives from 101 Studios and Paramount have been contacted by TFD for comments.

Conclusion

The investigation into Sylvester Stallone’s alleged remarks on the “Tulsa King” set underscores the importance of addressing workplace behavior. As representatives from 101 Studios and Paramount respond, the industry’s commitment to a respectful environment is highlighted.
