Actor Josh Charles just had one task: to hide from his children a significant secret about the biggest music artist in the world.

When it came to his unexpected appearance in the music video for Taylor Swift and Post Malone’s new song, “Fortnight,” the lead single off Swift’s new double album “The Tortured Poets Department,” the “Dead Poets Society” actor did just that.

That was difficult for me because I don’t like holding secrets, Charles posted on his Instagram page on Saturday. “It wasn’t until recently that I told my kids about it!”

The tweet featured two old photos of the actors: one from when they were still young and the other from when they were both in their music video roles as “Dead Poets” co-stars Ethan Hawke and Charles.

He wrote, “It’s safe to say this was a most memorable day, but we’ve been through a lot with this dude over the years.” I’ll remember the laughs the most. Lots and lots of stuff. As though we were 17 again.

Hawke and Charles play researchers investigating Swift in the music video, where she is strapped to a gurney and has an electrical device hooked to her head.

Being a part of the song video was “quite an honor,” Hawke stated on his Instagram page on Saturday.

The “Dead Poets” and “Tortured Poets” crossover seems to be a reference to the titles of the album and film being similar. The 1989 classic starred Hawke and Charles with the late Robin Williams.

On Friday, Swift unveiled “The Tortured Poets Department,” an unexpected double CD with 31 tracks. According to the music streamer, it has already made history by being the first album to be streamed more than 300 million times in a single day on Spotify.

Conclusion

Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” has not only captivated audiences but also rewritten streaming history. Its monumental success showcases Swift’s enduring influence in the music industry and sets a new benchmark for artists globally.
