TFD – Dive into the heartbreaking story of Marco Troper, grandson of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, whose sudden death has sparked concerns over drug use.

According to his grandmother’s Facebook post, the 19-year-old son of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki was discovered dead on Tuesday at the University of California, Berkeley.

According to Janet Gilmore, a UC Berkeley spokesman, a student who resided at the student housing complex Clark Kerr Campus was discovered unresponsive on Tuesday at approximately 4:23 p.m. local time. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the victim’s grandmother, Esther Wojcicki, verified his name and cause of death.

“My cherished 19-year-old grandson Marco Troper went suddenly yesterday. “Our family is absolutely devastated,” said Esther Wojcicki.

Troper is “the most kind, loving, smart, fun, and beautiful human being,” according to her.

According to Gilmore, the University of California Police Department was informed by the Berkeley Fire Department that it was “attempting life-saving measures” on the student when the department responded to the complex. The BFD had declared him dead by the time campus police showed up.

Gilmore stated that an inquiry was being conducted into the death and that there were no indications of foul play.

Troper “was just getting started” in his freshman year at UC Berkeley, where he was studying in math and “truly loving it,” according to his grandma.

In addition to “thriving academically,” Troper had a “strong community of friends” from his fraternity and dorm, according to Esther Wojcicki.

She added, “At home, he would tell us endless stories about his life and Berkeley friends.”

“Marco’s life was taken far too soon. And we are all inconsolable, considering all the chances and experiences in life that he and we will both miss,” Esther Wojcicki remarked. “Marco, you have no idea how much we all miss and love you.”

NBC News sent a request for comment, but Esther Wojcicki did not respond right away.

Troper’s cause of death is still unknown, however Esther Wojcicki told SF Gate that she thinks her grandson overdosed on drugs. According to her, the family is awaiting the toxicology report’s findings.

She told SF Gate, “One thing we know is that it was a drug. We don’t know what was in it, but he ingested it.”

Esther Wojcicki told SF Gate, “We want to stop this from happening to any other family.”

Conclusion

The tragedy of Marco Troper’s death serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of drug misuse on families. As Esther Wojcicki advocates, efforts must be made to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
