Once regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, Pogba was banned by Italy’s anti-doping court on Thursday for a maximum of four years after testing positive for testosterone during his time at Juventus.
The positive result was announced in September, stemming from an exam that was carried out on Aug. 20 after Juventus’ game at Udinese. Pogba did not play in the Serie A match but was on the bench.
Pogba chose not to enter into a plea agreement with Italy’s anti-doping agency, so the matter was heard by the anti-doping court in that nation.
