TFD – Discover how the families of victims in the Baltimore bridge fall are taking legal action with the help of attorneys.

Officials announced on Wednesday that they have located the body of a fifth victim from the fall of the Baltimore bridge five weeks prior.

The victim’s name is Miguel Angel Luna Gonzalez from Glen Burnie, Maryland. The Unified Command, a combined task force made up of the coast guard, police, and other government organizations responding to the incident, has announced this information.

A 213-million-pound cargo vessel slammed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26, crippling the structure and killing six workers repairing potholes on it. The bridge was used daily by some 30,000 Marylanders.

The six laborers in construction were immigrants from Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, and Honduras. One of the victims’ bodies remained undiscovered as of Wednesday.

TFD previously reported Luna, 49, was a husband and father of three from El Salvador who had lived in Maryland for more than 19 years, according to the nonprofit CASA, which provides critical services to working-class and immigrant families.

The body of a fifth construction worker was found inside a red truck by “Maryland State Police investigators, along with officers from the Maryland Transportation Authority Police and the FBI,” he continued.

Butler stated that each individual lost in this tragedy has a loving family behind them, which is why his staff is committed to the recovery effort.

Since the middle of April, inquiries have been conducted to determine the reason of the fatal event.

According to a US official familiar with the situation, CNN said, the FBI and the US Coast Guard are in charge of the criminal investigation into the disaster.

The ship’s owner, Grace Ocean Private Limited, and manager, Synergy Marine PTE LTD, have filed a petition in federal court asking for a $43.6 million limit on potential liability payouts.

However, the Baltimore municipal government and the lawyers for multiple victims are also pursuing responsibility.

Prior to the disaster, the city of Baltimore declared that it would begin a “legal action to hold the wrongdoers responsible” and made plans to assist the victims’ relatives, affected businesses, and affected employees.

The families of two workers who died and one victim who survived the fall are being represented by attorneys, and they have begun their own investigation.
