Two individuals have been charged by Florida authorities in relation to the shooting death of a 17-year-old teenager in December.

A family in unincorporated Winter Park, outside of Orlando, heard multiple gunshots from their home in the middle of the night on December 19, 2023, according to a release from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday. This sparked the start of the inquiry.

After his arrest on Friday, 19-year-old Alan Javon Morris was charged with first-degree premeditated murder. According to court documents, he entered a not guilty plea on Tuesday.

He was also charged with indecent and lascivious battery on a minor in a separate instance upon his arrest. The juvenile, who was between the ages of 12 and 16, admitted to detectives that there had been two separate instances of sexual intercourse, according to the arrest affidavit. Morris said investigators he climbed into the victim’s bedroom windows and confirmed to them that he had sex with the juvenile, as stated in the arrest report.

Morris’s public defender, who is identified as his attorney, did not immediately reply to a request for comment from USA TODAY on Wednesday. Morris is being held at a local jail without bond.

Additionally, Isaiah Allen Crisp, 20, was charged by police with first-degree premeditated murder for “his involvement in the homicide,” according to the SCSO release, which provides no further details. The original court filings are secret, and there was no proof against him in the arrest report. Crisp does not have a file attorney, but he is likewise being detained without bond.
