The 2025 Mahindra thar Facelift was launched at Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) while the 4WD LXT variant starts at Rs. 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV gets tweaked grille, dual-tone bumpers, a 10.25-inch HD infotainment system, a blacked out dashboard, and rear AC vents. It can be had with three powertrain options in 2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 2.2-litre diesel engines.

Mahindra Thar Facelift Engine and Performance

  • The CarWale team tested the four-wheel drive (4WD) Thar facelift with a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine.
  • It makes 132bhp of power and 300Nm of torque and can be mated to a six-speed manual and automatic (torque converter).
  • The gearbox and power delivery is smooth and turbo lag is minimal.
  • In the off-road tests, it handled bumpy terrain and mud like a champ, even when half submerged and or with a wheel suspended in the air.
  • The refinement levels of the diesel automatic are impressive, with NVH levels kept at a minimum.
  • This powertrain is only with the LXT trim level.

  • The Mahindra Thar facelift gets a long list of feature updates, with the new 10.25-inch HD infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto taking the centre stage on the dashboard.
  • The infotainment cluster also gets the Adventure Stats Gen II off-road suite which gives off-road focused information to help with your adventures.
  • Its rear view camera system has a crisp display and is intuitive to use.
  • The A-pillar mounted grab handle makes getting inside the Thar easier than before.
  • It also features rear-AC vents, door-mounted power window controls, centre arm rests for both driver and front passenger.
  • The steering wheel is new, with a flatter button. The fuel-lid can now be controlled electronically via a button positioned near it.
  • The all-black faux carbon fibre texture gives a sporty feel, while the cushy front seats and amble headroom improves the overall livability of the Thar facelift 2025.

  • The Mahindra Thar facelift 2025 gets mostly retains the outgoing model’s exteriors with a few exterior tweaks. It still has the same rugged stance, boxy body, and the three-door layout.
  • The visual updates include a body-coloured grille and dual-tone front bumper but the halogen headlights are the same as before.
  • From the side, the three-door Thar facelift still features the 18-inch alloys and flared wheel arches. The fuel lid no longer has a keyhole as it can now be opened electronically.
  • At the rear, the dual-tone bumper is making a comeback, and it now gets a rear parking camera integrated into the spare wheel.
  • Rear wiper and washer have also been introduced, and it continues to get a two-step opening boot, squared LED tail lights, and reflectors on the bumper.
  • Two new colour options have been introduced in Tango Red and Battleship Grey.
  • On the inside, the Thar gets more drastic changes with all-black dashboard and upholstery.
  • At the centre, it features a new 10.25-inch infotainment display, a nice upgrade from the eight-inch unit in the outgoing version.
  • It also features a new steering wheel, a grab handle on the A-pillar and individual armrests for the front passengers.
