In February 2025, mahindra revealed the prices of their flagship xev 9e electric SUV, with deliveries beginning in March. In order to increase its attractiveness and accessibility, Mahindra also made the long-range battery pack, which was previously only available in the top trim, available in a cheaper XEV 9e variant. 1. How much does the Mahindra XEV 9e cost?

After Rs 21.90 lakh

There are four different versions of the XEV 9e: Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three at the top. Ex-showroom costs range from Rs 21.90 lakh to Rs 31.25 lakh. On-road (Delhi), the XEV 9e is priced between Rs 23.21 lakh and Rs 33.33 lakh. A charger is optional with the Mahindra SUV, priced at Rs 50,000 (7.2kW) and Rs 75,000 (11.2kW). Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three at the top are the four versions of the XEV 9e that are available. Prices from the dealership range from Rs 21.90 lakh to Rs 31.25 lakh. The XEV 9e costs between Rs 23.21 lakh and Rs 33.33 lakh when purchased on the Delhi road. The Mahindra SUV comes with an optional charger that costs Rs 50,000 (7.2kW) and Rs 75,000 (11.2kW). 2. How long does the Mahindra XEV 9e last between charges?

On the MIDC, between 542 and 656 km

There are two battery pack configurations available for the XEV 9e: 59kWh and 79kWh. The larger battery can drive 656 km on the Modified Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC), while the smaller battery can go 542 km on a single charge.

Both 59kWh and 79kWh battery pack choices are available for the XEV 9e. The smaller battery can cover 542 km on a single charge on the Modified Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC), while the larger unit can cover 656 km.

Charging the XEV 9e 59kWh takes 8.7 hours with a 7.2kW AC charger, 6 hours with an 11.2kW AC charger, and just 20 minutes on a 140kW DC fast charger. The larger 79kWh pack has charging times of 11.7 hours with the 7.2kW charger, 8 hours with the 11.2kW charger and 20 minutes on the 180kW unit.

The XEV 9e 59kWh can be charged in 8.7 hours using a 7.2kW AC charger, 6 hours using an 11.2kW AC charger, and only 20 minutes using a 140kW DC fast charger. The larger 79kWh battery can be charged in 11.7 hours using a 7.2kW charger, 8 hours using an 11.2kW charger, and 20 minutes using a 180kW unit.

It only takes 20 minutes to charge the XEV 9e 59kWh using a 140kW DC fast charger, 8.7 hours with a 7.2kW AC charger, and 6 hours with an 11.2kW AC charger. Charging periods for the larger 79kWh pack are 11.7 hours using a 7.2kW charger, 8 hours using an 11.2kW charger, and 20 minutes using a 180kW unit.

3. Does the Mahindra XEV 9e have a greater real-world range than the Tata Harrier EV?

Top-spec XEV 9e returns 55km more on a single charge

We recently compared the real-world range of the top trims of the Mahindra XEV 9e 79kWh with the Tata Harrier EV 75kWh. With a combined real-world range of 456 km (city 425 km, highway 488 km), the XEV 9e outperformed the Harrier EV by 55 km, with a combined range of 401 km (city 409 km, highway 393 km). Although the Tata has a faster AC charging time, the Mahindra SUV can also be charged more quickly using a DC charger because of its higher charging speed compatibility. The XEV 9e 59kWh version has not yet undergone real-world testing.

4. What is the Mahindra XEV 9e ground clearance?

Unladen ground clearance of the XEV 9e stands at 207mm. From the lowest point of the battery pack to the ground, it is 218mm. Its dimensions are 4,789mm (length), 1,907mm (width), 1,694mm (height) and 2,775mm (wheelbase).

5.How many screens are there inside the Mahindra XEV 9e?

As standard, all all XEV 9e variants feature three digital screens, including a driver’s display, a central touchscreen and a passenger unit. Each screen measures 12.3-inch, but the middle unit houses key car controls such as drive modes and climate control. The XEV 9e top model even features front ventilated seats, panoramic glass roof (fixed) with embedded lights, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos and more.

6. Are software bugs common with the Mahindra XEV 9e?

Some have stated that the driver’s display is becoming blank and that the smartphone integration is failing.

In our review of the XEV 9e last year, we found the touchscreen’s user interface to be bewildering, despite the fact that it is sleek, sensitive to inputs, and filled with functions. Mahindra then promised that a beta unit was inserted in the test car and that everything will be resolved. Some users have also reported other software-related issues like driver’s display blanking out, non-responsive MAIA AI assistant and wireless smartphone integration failing.
