On September 4, the Ministry of Education will make the annual National Institutional Ranking Framework (nirf) 2025 announcement. India‘s top colleges and universities are listed by the NIRF India Rankings.

Overall, universities, colleges, research institutions, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture and planning, agriculture and related sectors, open university, skill university, and state public university are the 15 categories for which the NIRF India Ranking 2025 will be revealed.

For each category, different weighted averages and NIRF parameters were used to determine the rankings. Teaching, learning, and resources; research and professional practice; graduation outcomes; outreach and inclusivity; and peer perception are the key factors used to rate the colleges, universities, and institutes.

The NIRF India ranking was revealed on August 12 of last year and on June 5 of 2023. The nirf rankings for 2022, 2021, and 2020 were made public on July 15, September 9, and June 11, respectively.

In NIRF Rankings 2024, IIT Madras was placed as the best institute in the overall and engineering categories. In the universities and research categories, IISc Bangalore was ranked at one. In the architecture and planning category, IIT Roorkee was placed at the top. Under innovation, IIT Bombay topped and Hindu College was the best college.

In the management category, IIM Ahmedabad came in first, followed by IIM Bangalore in second and IIM Kozhikode in third.

The top medical school was AIIMS New Delhi, the top dentistry school was Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, and the top pharmacy school was Jamia Handard.

The top legal school was NLSIU Bengaluru, which was followed by NLU Delhi in second place and Nalsar University of legal in Hyderabad in third.

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute was ranked top in agriculture and related fields.
