During the ongoing Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2025, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) discovered remote hacking efforts and warned of severe consequences for anyone responsible.
One of the biggest competitive tests in India is the CGL exam, which started on September 12 and will run until September 26. Every year, it draws thousands of applicants hoping to land Group B and C government employment.
MALPRACTICES DETECTED BY SECURITY SYSTEMS
The SSC has implemented a number of digital security measures to keep an eye on activity at each candidate’s terminal across all centers, according an official announcement published on September 17. At certain testing locations, these devices detected attempts at remote system takeovers.
The commission stated, “Through the digital security solutions deployed by the Commission, it has been noticed that remote takeover/system hacking attempts are being made on certain candidates’ nodes at some of the centres.”
STRICT ACTION WARNING
The SSC has said unequivocally that these kinds of actions are closely monitored. After the examination process is over, digital traces and evidence will be analyzed, and stringent procedures will be implemented.
Candidates found guilty of such malpractices will be disqualified, the letter further stated. In addition to the candidates, the organizations that supported these attempts may potentially face criminal charges.
Candidates are reassured by SSC
All candidates have been advised by the commission to focus on fair competition and avoid any malpractice. Additionally, it has reassured applicants of its dedication to fairness and openness in administering the tests.
The SSC aims to preserve the integrity of the CGL exam, which continues to be one of the most important recruitment procedures for young candidates nationwide, by strengthening its digital monitoring systems and releasing this warning.
