Industry Applause and Celebrity Reactions
Filmmaker Karan Johar also lauded the success of Border 2, calling it a strong indicator of Hindi cinema’s resurgence at the box office.
“One thing is clear from the recent back-to-back Hindi film successes: Bollywood—yes, that’s the wrong term, but it’s here to stay—is back. When films strike emotional chords with a paying audience, they cross all borders of excellence,” Johar wrote on his Instagram story.
Reacting to earlier social media criticism aimed at Varun Dhawan, Johar further added that genuine audience love ultimately outweighs online negativity.
“You can troll an artist for his smile, but when the film releases to packed houses and receives authentic audience love, truth always prevails,” he remarked.
About Border 2
Inspired by the historic India-Pakistan war of 1971, Border 2 focuses on the Indian Army’s response to Pakistan’s Operation Changez Khan. The film blends large-scale action with emotional storytelling, paying tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.
With a strong weekday hold expected and minimal competition at the box office, Border 2 is well-positioned to continue its dominant run and may soon set its sights on the ₹200 crore milestone.
