Saiyaara, the love drama directed by Mohit Suri, has yet another record-breaking weekend at the domestic box office. However, the Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda film eventually experienced a significant decline in attendance on day eleven of its run. For the first time since its debut, it fell to single digits in a single day on Monday, its second Monday, hovering just below the Rs 10 crore threshold. Saiyaara collected Rs 9.5 crore on Monday, which was a major decline from its Sunday earnings of Rs 30 crore. That was the maximum the film had earned in a single day after the previous Sunday (day 3), when it collected Rs 35.75 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.
Even on weekdays, Saiyaara produced double-digit collections during the course of the previous week. It added an additional Rs 24 crore to its total collection on day four after passing the Monday test with flying colors. After scoring Rs 25 crore and Rs 21.5 crore on Tuesday (day 5) and Wednesday (day 6), respectively, the film dropped below Rs 20 crore on Thursday (day 7) and Rs 18 crore on Friday (day 8).
Saiyaara’s current domestic box office receipts total Rs 256.75 crore. Even though the movie has already eclipsed a number of 2025 blockbusters, including Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (Rs 178 crore), Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 165 crore), and Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 (Rs 198 crore), it still has a ways to go before it can overtake Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava (Rs 600 crore) as this year’s highest-grossing Hindi film. Now, Saiyaara has surpassed the lifetime domestic net collections of movies like Singham Again, Brahmastra, and The Kashmir Files.
Last weekend, Saiyaara benefited from the absence of competition following Devgn’s decision to postpone his action comedy Son of Sardaar 2 until August 1. Suri’s film has four more days to run without any competition before facing off against Son of Sardaar 2 and Shazia Iqbal’s Dhadak 2, another dramatic love drama starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri.
The plot of Saiyaara centers on the romance between a tortured vocalist and a straightforward lyricist. It is produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani for the first time and is supported by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films. It marks the film debut of Ahaan Panday, the first cousin of actor Ananya Panday and the nephew of Chunky Panday, and Aneet Padda, who turned heads with her performance in Prime Video India show Big Girls Don’t Cry last year.
Siddharth Anand, the filmmaker, praised Saiyaara on his X Twitter on Monday. “A bit late for the celebration. I had already heard a lot about the movie. Aside from the fact that it’s the blockbuster. entered the movie with a lot of these preconceptions. And still! Just LOVED IT!!! Just wow! Here’s a film maker at his finest! His craft at its peak. His conviction unhinged!”
