The next film from actors Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, Param Sundari, began showing in theaters on August 29. Preliminary ticket sales indicated a respectable opening day. In addition to the interviews and promotional activities, the actors were spotted taking part in the Ganpati celebrations at Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja temple. However, the performers found it extremely difficult to move around due to the large crowd already present at the venue, thus the experience was anything from restful, especially for Janhvi.

Numerous videos of the two appeared online, and both Janhvi and Sidharth appeared to be in a good mood as they approached the shrine. In the subsequent videos, the actors were shown straining to get through the crowds of onlookers, who grew more enthusiastic upon sighting the two celebrities. Janhvi’s attitude altered rapidly as the two actors crawled to the idol of Ganesh. There was a lot of pushing from all sides, and the actor was obviously uncomfortable, even though Sidharth was immediately behind her, hanging on to her.

Many Reddit users defended the actor after the footage surfaced, stating that any lady in that kind of circumstance would feel uneasy and afraid. One user commented, “To be fair, most women would feel uncomfortable in this crowd; it has nothing to do with privilege and everything to do with not feeling safe in a crowd with men.” Another user wrote, “All women feel the same way; no amount of money can make you feel comfortable in a crowded space, that’s for sure.” It is evident that Janhvi and the few other ladies in this video are the ones who are uncomfortable, while Sidharth remains unmoved.

Many users also noted that she cannot be questioned for attempting to visit a temple like a normal person, and that if the actors had used a VIP line, people would have called out her privilege.

Despite being accused of being stereotypical towards South Indians and being compared to Chennai Express, Param Sundari has finally been released. However, it is unclear if director Tushar Jalota will be able to leave a significant impression at the box office. Sidharth, Janhvi, Sanjay Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Aakash Dahiya, and Rajeev Khandelwal are among the cast members of the Jalota-directed movie.
