After enjoying a fairly strong opening weekend, Raja Saab experienced a significant slowdown at the Box office on Day 4. As per early trade estimates, the Prabhas-led horror-comedy earned around Rs 5.4 crore net in India on Monday, marking its lowest single-day collection since release.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, this figure represents a sharp 71.7% drop from Sunday’s earnings. While the film had managed to post a respectable performance till the weekend, the sudden dip on the first weekday has raised concerns among trade analysts and exhibitors.

On Day 3, Raja Saab collected approximately Rs 19.1 crore net in India, contributing to a worldwide net collection of Rs 161 crore. With the addition of Monday’s numbers, the film’s total domestic net collection now stands at around Rs 113.4 crore.

The film, which released theatrically on January 9, had already generated Rs 9.15 crore through paid previews, giving it a head start before its official opening. Friday (Day 2) turned out to be its biggest day so far, with earnings peaking at Rs 53.75 crore. The Telugu-speaking markets led the charge, while Hindi circuits also made a notable contribution.

During the initial phase, the Hindi belt reportedly contributed close to Rs 96 crore to the overall business, reflecting Prabhas’ continued pull beyond the South Indian markets. However, despite the strong start, the momentum failed to sustain through the weekend.

Collections dropped sharply on Saturday, falling to Rs 26 crore, which amounted to a 51.63% decline from Friday. Sunday offered little respite, as the film slipped further by 26.54%, earning Rs 19.1 crore. While a weekday decline was expected, the extent of Monday’s fall has surprised trade watchers.

Industry observers believe that weak word-of-mouth and mixed audience reception have played a key role in the film’s rapid slowdown. Both critics and viewers have largely expressed disappointment with the horror-comedy’s execution, screenplay, and tonal inconsistencies.

Adding to the film’s challenges, several reviews have been particularly harsh. India Today, in its critique, awarded the film a one-and-a-half-star rating, stating that “there’s hardly anything redeemable in this soulless film.” Such critical feedback appears to be influencing footfalls, especially during weekdays.

Raja Saab features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Brahmanandam, Nidhii Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Yogi Babu in prominent roles alongside Prabhas. Despite the star power, sustaining momentum at the box office now looks increasingly challenging.

With weekdays ahead and new releases looming, all eyes will be on whether Raja Saab can stabilize its collections or continue its downward trend at the Indian box office.
