In a nearly two-hour pre-recorded podcast with her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce, Taylor Swift was open. At one point, the YouTube stream had over a million views on Wednesday night.
The singer would be discussing her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and opening up about her historic Eras Tour, which ended in December 2024, according to teasers posted ahead of her first appearance on “New Heights.”
She covered both topics extensively in the episode, but some of the most fascinating parts came from unexpected conversations, such as when she opened up about her parents’ health issues this summer or when she became emotional while discussing the moment she realized she would once again own her entire discography.
Highlights of their chat include the following:
She has “been wanting to make the Life of a Showgirl” record for a very long time.
The pop sensation’s 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” will be released on October 3 and will feature 12 tracks, including a farewell song with Sabrina Carpenter.
Swift declared, “I’ve been wanting to make this record for a very long time.”
The album marks a reunion between Swift and legendary producers Max Martin and Shellback, who worked with her pop-heavy hits “Red,” “1989” and “Reputation.” These albums also feature several of her top songs, including “Shake It Off,” “Delicate,” “Blank Space” and “I Knew You were Trouble.”
Swift stated her ambition for the new album was to have “just as vivid but crisp and focused and completely intentional” lyrics and “melodies that were so infectious that you’re almost angry at it.”
Swift later stated that she wanted the album cover to convey the same idea, stating that the album’s subject is “everything that was going on behind the curtain.” She referred to it as “the life beyond the show.”
When asked what the orange iconography on the album means, Swift responded that it represents “exuberant, electric, and vibrant,” which is “energetically how my life has felt.”
When Super Bowl champion and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce inquired if he would be able to hear the record beforehand, Swift declined.
She declared, “We have absolutely no faith in you.”
“To be honest, smart,” he said.
Swift’s “green flag” moment and Travis Kelce’s use of words

Swift quipped that the podcast “got me a boyfriend,” and it is now common knowledge how Travis Kelce and Swift became one of the most well-known power couples in the world. However, her boyfriend claimed that he genuinely attributes their relationship to the Eras Tour.
“I wouldn’t have gone on here and told everyone how disappointed I was (when he didn’t get a chance to give her a friendship bracelet he’d made for her) if I hadn’t gone to that show and just been enthralled and captivated and then left with such a desire to want to meet you.” Never before have I been so fascinated by your identity,” he remarked.
Swift said, “That’s really beautiful,” and let out an audible “aww.”
“The best part of that statement is that you didn’t know what the word ‘engulfed’ meant before you met Taylor,” his brother joked in response.
Throughout the episode, Swift and Travis Kelce frequently sat with their arms entwined, seemingly at ease with each other.
Swift mentioned in another episode that the “green flag” she noticed in Travis Kelce early on was his capacity to preserve friendships.
She claimed that Travis has been pals with the same people since he was around four years old. “His friends are the funniest, most hilarious group of people, and he is very good at keeping friendships going. They are also very loyal.”
Swift’s mom and brother played a major role in helping her buy her masters back

Swift went into a thorough explanation of how it came to be after Travis Kelce called the “reclaiming” of her master recordings one of his favorite things that transpired this summer.
She recalled, “They sat down with Shamrock Capital and they explained to them what this meant for me.” “They gave them the full rundown of all the times we’ve attempted to purchase it and failed.”
A few months after the Super Bowl, Swift claimed to have gotten word that she had purchased her master recordings.
“I get a call from my mom and she’s like, ‘You got your music,’” Swift said while tearing up. “This actually happened a long time ago, and every time I bring it up… I really simply hit the floor with a lot of drama. Honestly, just started like bawling my eyes out, and I’m just like weeping.”
Travis Kelce acknowledged that he too began to cry.
She repeated, “You were crying.”
About six years after she objected to her old record label selling the master recordings of her first six albums, Swift finally acquired her whole discography in May.
In a message that was then uploaded on her website, Swift revealed the news, stating that “all of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs… to me.”
The Grammy winner stated that she bought her music “outright with no strings attached, no partnership, full autonomy” from Shamrock Capital and that she is the owner of all of her music videos, concert films, album art, and photos in addition to unreleased compositions.
Swift stays occupied. Making bread
Although Swift seems to have a never-ending schedule, she does have hobbies and free time, such as cooking, painting, and “a different baking obsession every six months.”
“I’m the luckiest man in the world,” Travis Kelce jokingly said.
“We’re really into a sourdough craze right now, and it’s taken over my life,” she continued.
Travis Kelce says he is very grateful to be running and training as much as he is right now, because “I am getting the caloric intake.”
According to Taylor Swift, during training camp, he requested that she give him two loaves of sourdough.
She stated, “I now talk about bread 60% of the time.”
Meanwhile, she has been perfecting a “funfetti sourdough” for Jason Kelce’s children “because they love sprinkles.”
Jason Kelce declared, “It’s going to blow their mind.”
Swift’s recuperation from her Eras Tour performance is just as rigorous as Kelce’s post-game routine.

Swift and Travis Kelce both appear to adhere to the maxim “work hard, recover harder.”
Swift talked candidly about the exhausting toll that her three-hour shows would have on her.
“There was a lot of physical therapy and a lot of living in constant discomfort,” she remarked.
She told Travis Kelce, “(It’s) kind of like when you’re in season. Huge 300-pounders aren’t hitting me, but the heels
Travis Kelce recalled seeing what he called “the recovery station” at the hotel.
“S**t, I’m telling you, dude, the similarities were crazy,” Kelce said. Oh my God, I thought. She does more than I do.’”
He added: “We related on how much torture we put our bodies through.”
