Recently, Suniel Shetty was the target of trolling after some of his politically incorrect remarks went viral on social media. Athiya Shetty, his daughter, had received praise from him for giving birth naturally rather than undergoing a C-section. A “husband should build the career and the wife should take care of the kids,” he had also implied. In a recent exchange, Suniel acknowledged that Athiya closely monitors his remarks and frequently corrects him when he says something improper.

Suniel acknowledged in an interview with Zoom that “I steer clear of contentious questions during promotional activities.” I’m the type of person who occasionally wants to respond but then makes a mistake. At home, Athiya then asks, “Papa, why did you talk?” Simply say “no comment!” She always warns me not to say anything that can cause problems for us the following day. To be honest, she keeps track of every interview I do, and that’s the only person I’m afraid of. A baby girl is the greatest gift a guy can receive.

Suniel had praised Athiya’s strength for giving birth to her and KL Rahul’s daughter Evaarah Vipula Rahul in a previous interview with News18. In a society where everyone wants the convenience of a cesarean delivery, she opted for a natural birth instead, he added. I recall that every pediatrician and nurse in the hospital commented on how amazing she was for going through the entire process. As a father, that struck me.
