Love trap, abduction, repeated rape: Two sentenced to life till death for assault on minor
A Rajasthani girl was kidnapped and repeatedly raped; her boyfriend and friend were sentenced to life in prison.

In a crime that currently carries one of the heaviest legal penalties, a 14-year-old girl was enticed from her family on the promise of marriage, transported to a different city, and repeatedly gang-raped before being saved.

Two men were given life sentences until death by a POCSO court in the Alwar district of Rajasthan for the gang rape of a minor. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each of the convicts.

The girl disappears overnight.

When the girl vanished from her house on November 6, 2024, when her family was asleep, the incident became public knowledge. The girl’s mother said that when the family awoke in the morning, the 14-year-old was not in her room.

Mohit, a young man who had come to the house earlier to meet the girl, quickly caused suspicion among the family. Upon arriving at his home, family members learned that Mohit had also been absent since the night before.

Police were alerted and an FIR was registered.

THE Accused Was Followed to BHIWADI

Police located Mohit’s cell phone in Bhiwadi throughout the course of the investigation. A police team, accompanied by the girl’s family, reached the town and arrested Mohit along with his associate Ankit.

It was discovered by investigators that Mohit had initially enticed the youngster into a relationship and persuaded her to flee with him. He picked up his friend Ankit en route, and the two of them drove the girl to Bhiwadi.

CONFIRMED REPEATED SEXUAL ASSAULT

According to the police, both of the suspects worked at a company during the day and spent the evenings together. The girl was gang-raped by the two males on multiple occasions throughout this time.

The victim was medically examined after her rescue, and the medical report confirmed sexual assault. Following their arrest and court appearance, the two defendants were placed under judicial custody.

TRIAL AND SENTENCING

The prosecution called 22 witnesses and presented the court with 26 documents during the trial’s multiple hearings.

Based on the evidence on record, the POCSO court held Mohit and Ankit guilty of gang rape of a minor and sentenced them to life imprisonment till death. Additionally, each was fined Rs 10,000.

Both of the convicted individuals were returned to prison to fulfill their sentences following the verdict.
