Heightened security concerns emerged on Friday after bomb threat emails were sent to multiple educational institutions in Noida and Ahmedabad, only days ahead of Republic Day celebrations. Among the affected schools were Shiv Nadar School and Father Agnel School in Noida, along with several private schools in Ahmedabad.
Authorities responded swiftly to the threats, prioritizing student safety. As a precautionary measure, students were dismissed early while security agencies launched thorough inspections of the school premises.
The timing of the threats—just three days before Republic Day—prompted officials to treat the matter with heightened seriousness, given the increased security sensitivities during the national holiday period.
In Noida, security teams were immediately deployed to Shiv Nadar School and Father Agnel School following the receipt of the threatening emails. Bomb disposal squads and dog squads were also sent to the campuses to conduct detailed searches and rule out any potential danger.
As part of the safety protocol, Shiv Nadar School arranged dedicated transport to ensure students were safely returned to their designated drop-off points. Parents were advised to coordinate closely with bus staff while collecting their children.
Anju Soni, Principal of Shiv Nadar School, appealed to parents for calm and cooperation, emphasizing that the measures were purely precautionary and taken in the best interest of student safety.
The Noida Police confirmed that, alongside on-ground inspections, their cyber crime unit has begun a technical analysis of the threatening emails to trace their origin and identify those responsible.
Police officials reassured parents and the general public that the situation was under control and urged everyone to avoid spreading rumors. Law enforcement authorities emphasized that peace and order were fully maintained at the affected schools.
Meanwhile, a similar situation unfolded in Ahmedabad, where multiple private schools also reported receiving bomb threat emails. School administrations promptly alerted the police, leading to coordinated response efforts.
Teams from the local police, fire department, and bomb squad were dispatched to the schools in Ahmedabad to carry out comprehensive inspections. Officials confirmed that all necessary safety protocols were followed during the checks.
Investigations are ongoing in both cities, with authorities working to determine whether the threats were hoaxes or part of a broader security concern. Officials reiterated that student safety remains the top priority as Republic Day approaches.
