Gurugram Child Abuse Case: Two Domestic Workers and Accomplice Arrested Under POCSO and BNS

In a deeply disturbing incident from Gurugram, police have detained two female domestic helpers along with their male accomplice for allegedly sexually abusing a three-year-old girl. The case has sparked widespread concern over Child Safety and background verification of domestic staff in residential societies.

Arrests Made Following Serious Allegations

According to police officials, all three accused were taken into custody on Saturday after an investigation into the alleged abuse. The arrests came shortly after judicial attention intensified, with the Supreme Court agreeing to hear a plea seeking a CBI or Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the case.

The accused include two women working as domestic helpers and a male accomplice, who is reportedly associated with one of them. Authorities have confirmed that all three individuals are currently under police custody as further investigation continues.

Incident Reported After Child Spoke to Parents

The alleged abuse is said to have taken place between December 2025 and January 2026 in a residential society located in Sector 54, Gurugram. The matter came to light when the young girl informed her mother about the incident, prompting immediate action from the family.

Following the disclosure, the child’s parents approached the police in February to file a formal complaint and seek justice.

FIR Registered Under POCSO Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita

On February 4, an FIR was registered at the Sector 53 police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. These laws provide strict provisions for dealing with crimes involving minors, ensuring stringent punishment for offenders.

Child’s Statement and Legal Proceedings

The young victim reportedly gave a detailed statement before a magistrate, describing the traumatic experience. Despite this, concerns were raised in court regarding the pace of the investigation, with claims that initial police action had been insufficient.

Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi mentioned the urgency of the case before the Supreme Court, following which a three-judge bench agreed to hear the matter. The bench includes Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi, and Justice Vipul M. Pancholi, and the hearing has been scheduled for Monday.

Accused Identified and Background Details

The suspects have been identified as Pakila, a resident of Nadia district in West Bengal; Sangeeta from Etah district in Uttar Pradesh; and her husband, Kabir Mulla. All three are aged between 30 and 32 years and were residing in the Ghata slum area of Gurugram.

Preliminary investigations suggest that one of the domestic helpers had recently started working at the victim’s home, while the other was employed in a nearby apartment. The male accomplice allegedly took advantage of access to the residential area to commit the Crime.

Police officials have stated that further investigation is underway to uncover all aspects of the case, including how the accused gained access and whether there were any lapses in background verification processes.
