A shocking case of alleged rape and murder has emerged from Jagatsinghpur district in Odisha, where a 23-year-old woman was reportedly sexually assaulted twice in separate incidents before being pushed to her death from the rooftop of a four-storey building.
According to police officials, the woman had left her home on February 22 intending to elope with her boyfriend. He had allegedly asked her to meet him at a temple, promising marriage. However, instead of going through with the plan, he reportedly took her to a secluded location where he sexually assaulted her.
Authorities said the accused then abandoned her near a bus stop after the alleged assault.
Second Assault in Paradip
While the woman was waiting at the bus stop, another man — reportedly a resident of Jharkhand — approached her and offered assistance. Senior police officer Ankit Kumar Verma told news agency PTI that the man allegedly took her to the rooftop of his rented accommodation in Paradip town.
Police allege that the accused sexually assaulted the woman again at that location. During the incident, she was reportedly pushed from the fourth floor of the building. Her body was discovered the following morning.
