
In the last leg of his two-day visit to japan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese colleague Shigeru Ishiba took a bullet train on Saturday from Tokyo to Sendai, 370 kilometers outside the capital city.

The Japanese prime minister tweeted, “On my way to Sendai with Prime Minister Modi,” along with photos of his trip. I’ll be driving with him, just like last night.”
PM Modi greeted Indian loco pilots training in Japan upon arriving in Sendai.

PM Modi visited Tokyo Electron, a manufacturer of semiconductors and electronics, prior to leaving for the SCO Summit in China. He described the chips industry as a crucial area of collaboration between Japan and India. “I went to the Tokyo Electron Factory with PM Ishiba. We visited the Production Innovation Lab and Training Room, where we spoke with corporate executives. One important area of collaboration between Japan and India is the semiconductor industry. India has advanced significantly in this field in recent years. Many young people are also becoming involved with it. In the future, we hope to maintain this momentum,” PM Modi wrote on Twitter.
PM Modi has earlier discussed the possibility of state-prefecture cooperation with the governors of sixteen Japanese prefectures. In the context of the 15th Annual India-Japan Summit, he called for actions under the State-Prefecture Partnership Initiative.
