Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and members of his cabinet made public their asset details on the last day of 2025, in line with the state government’s transparency initiatives. The disclosures were released by the Cabinet Secretariat Department.
According to the declaration, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has total assets valued at approximately ₹1.48 crore. He has ₹20,552 in cash and maintains three bank accounts.
His State Bank of India (SBI) Patna Secretariat account holds ₹27,217, while another SBI account at Parliament House, New Delhi, has ₹3,358. His punjab National Bank (PNB) account at the Boring Road branch in Patna contains ₹27,191.
The chief minister owns jewellery valued at around ₹2.03 lakh and a Ford EcoSport car worth ₹11.32 lakh. The total value of his movable assets stands at ₹17.66 lakh.
Among his immovable assets is an apartment located in the Parliament Bihar Cooperative Housing Society in Dwarka, New Delhi, currently valued at about ₹1.48 crore.
Deputy Chief Ministers’ Assets
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary reported having ₹1.35 lakh in cash, while his wife has ₹35,000. His bank savings include ₹2.09 lakh in an HDFC Bank account and ₹15.35 lakh in an SBI account. He has also invested in shares and bonds.
Chaudhary owns a 2023 Bolero Neo valued at ₹7 lakh. He and his wife together possess 200 grams of Gold worth about ₹20 lakh. He has also declared a revolver worth ₹2 lakh and an NP bore rifle worth ₹4 lakh, both inherited from his father. His wife owns an apartment worth ₹29 lakh in Patna’s Gola Road area.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha declared over ₹55 lakh in bank deposits and ₹88,560 in cash. He has investments in shares of companies such as Power Grid and Shiva Biogenetic, and owns 90 grams of gold jewellery valued at ₹9.90 lakh.
Other Ministers’ Declarations
Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey disclosed movable assets worth ₹1.32 crore, including cash, gold and Silver, a Tata Safari car, and a firearm. His SBI Patna account holds ₹1.01 crore, while his PNB R.K. Avenue account has ₹18.83 lakh. He reported ₹59,000 in cash.
Minister Ashok Chaudhary reported an annual income of ₹20.34 lakh for the financial year 2024–25 and bank deposits of ₹53.86 lakh. His wife, Nita Chaudhary, has bank deposits exceeding ₹22.54 crore and owns gold and stone jewellery worth ₹9.60 crore. Ashok Chaudhary also declared ownership of a revolver worth ₹1 lakh.
Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary stated that he has ₹1 lakh in cash and movable assets worth around ₹1.12 crore, spread across mutual funds and bank accounts. He also owns a house in Samastipur valued at ₹15 lakh and agricultural land worth ₹55 lakh.
The Cabinet Secretariat Department said the disclosures were made to promote transparency and accountability in public life.
