Pakistan shouldn’t have any illusions about India‘s power following Operation Sindoor, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday. He emphasized that the cross-border attacks had shown New Delhi‘s resolute stance to dealing with security concerns.
Without mentioning Field Marshal Asim Munir, the head of the Pakistan Army, Rajnath Singh claimed that the general’s recent comments regarding nuclear weapons and his analogy of Pakistan to a “dumper truck” demonstrated a “predatory mentality” and were a “confession” of Islamabad’s shortcomings.
At the Economic Times World Leaders’ Forum, Singh stated, “Whether intentionally or inadvertently, the Pakistan Army chief has pointed towards a predatory mentality (kabilai aur looteri mansikta) that Pakistan has been a victim of since its inception.”
“We must ensure that along with India’s prosperity, our fighting spirit for our defence capability and national honour remains equally strong. We have already demonstrated our resolve in Operation Sindoor. We won’t let Pakistan develop any misconceptions about India’s power,” he declared.
Following the 26-person Pahalgam terror assault on April 22, India started Operation Sindoor on May 7 to target terrorist infrastructure in areas under Pakistani control. Before both sides decided to halt military action on May 10, the strikes sparked four days of fighting.
Singh claimed that Asim Munir’s comparison of Pakistan to a “dumper truck full of gravel” and India to a “Mercedes” was an admission of failure.
“It is their own fault if two nations get independence together and one uses hard labor, sound policies, and a clear vision to build an economy like a sports car while the other remains mired in failure. “This is a confession, not a joke,” he declared.
Singh also underlined that India’s ethos does not view the world as a race for dominance but as a path towards harmony and mutual respect.
According to our heritage, “the measure of strength is not in the pursuit of narrow interests but in the commitment to the global good, not in the ability to command,” he stated.
Using the occasion, the defense minister also urged international businesses to put money into India’s defense industry.
