The overseas campus of IIM Ahmedabad was opened in Dubai. The event, which was attended by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, was hailed as a major milestone in the internationalization of Indian education.

The campus is viewed as a calculated step to promote global scholarly cooperation and make Indian educational knowledge more widely available.

The new campus was hailed by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as another significant step forward for India‘s educational aspirations.

“The best of India will be brought to the world by the IIM Ahmedabad Dubai campus,” he added. The IIM Ahmedabad international campus in Dubai currently serves as the ideal springboard for the philosophy of “Indian in spirit, global in outlook.”

Additionally, the event improved higher education relations between the UAE and India. Pradhan met Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar, Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the UAE, to discuss expanding academic cooperation.

According to the Education Ministry, “Both leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation in higher education and agreed to further deepen knowledge bridges, making knowledge, innovation, and research central pillars of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.”

BILTATERAL RESEARCH AND INNOVATION FOCUS

The topics of collaborative research and enhancing academic capacity were discussed.

The conversations also centered on capacity building, fostering reciprocal academic and cultural interactions, and collaborative research in important and developing fields. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to fostering people-to-people relationships and pursuing common priorities, with the UAE serving as a worldwide economic hub and India as a global hotspot for talent, the Ministry continued.

The academic environment in the United Arab Emirates and the necessity of advancing research from publication to productization and marketization were both covered in these talks.

He mentioned fruitful discussions about enhancing Brand India in international entrepreneurship, innovation, and education.

NEW ACTIONS FOR SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS

With virtual participation from CBSE school principals throughout the GCC, the minister met with the principals of 109 Indian Curriculum schools in the United Arab Emirates to support Indian children in the area.

at order to encourage students’ scientific curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit, he announced the opening of 12 new Atal Tinkering Labs at CBSE schools throughout the GCC.

Pradhan highlighted the cultural linkages between India and the United Arab Emirates by planting a Ghaf tree sapling at the Indian Consulate in Dubai as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign.

The first foreign Atal Incubation Center sponsored by an Indian institution was inaugurated by the minister during his visit to the IIT Delhi campus in Abu Dhabi.

In addition to fulfilling the goals of students and young people in India and the Gulf, the visit shows the ambition of both nations to investigate collaborations in research and education.
