In a shocking incident reported from Rajasthan’s Udaipur district, police have detained three individuals—including the CEO and executive head of a private IT firm—on charges of allegedly gang-raping a female employee in a moving vehicle. The arrests were made after the survivor lodged a formal complaint detailing the assault that allegedly took place following a company party.
According to Udaipur police officials, the accused include the company’s CEO, identified as Jayesh, his colleague Gaurav, and Gaurav’s wife, Shilpa, who also holds a senior position in the organization. All three were taken into custody after preliminary evidence and medical findings appeared to support the survivor’s allegations.
District Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal confirmed that the survivor’s statement was officially recorded and that a medical examination was conducted soon after the complaint was filed. “The medical report indicates injury marks which, prima facie, corroborate the allegation of gang rape,” the SP stated.
Police have also seized and reviewed footage from a dashboard camera installed in the vehicle allegedly used during the incident. Authorities said the dashcam reportedly captured both audio and video evidence, which is being treated as a crucial element of the ongoing investigation.
As per the complaint, the incident occurred on December 20 after a combined birthday and New Year celebration organized by the company at a hotel in the Shobhagpura area of Udaipur. The survivor reportedly arrived at the venue around 9 p.m., and the gathering continued until approximately 1:30 a.m. The CEO, a senior female executive, and her husband were among those present at the event.
When the survivor began feeling intoxicated late at night, some attendees suggested dropping her home. However, she alleged that the senior female executive invited her to an after-party instead. According to the complaint, the survivor left the hotel around 1:45 a.m. in a car with the CEO, the senior executive, and her husband.
The accused allegedly stopped at a shop to purchase smoking supplies and forced the survivor to smoke. She claimed that she lost consciousness shortly thereafter. When she partially regained awareness, she allegedly found the CEO sexually assaulting her inside the moving vehicle.
The survivor further alleged that she was sexually abused by all three accused—the CEO, the senior female executive, and her husband—during the course of the night. Despite repeatedly asking to be taken home, she claimed she was dropped off only around 5 a.m.
In her statement, the woman said that upon regaining full consciousness, she noticed injuries to her private parts and found that personal belongings, including an earring, socks, and undergarments, were missing. These details were included in the FIR and are being examined as part of the probe.
Police officials confirmed that the accused have been presented before a court as part of the legal process, and further investigation is underway. Authorities are continuing to analyze forensic evidence, digital recordings, and witness statements to establish the sequence of events.
The case has sparked outrage and renewed discussions around workplace safety, abuse of power, and the responsibility of corporate leadership. Law enforcement officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and assured that strict action will be taken based on the findings.
