Adam Copeland Set for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Debut in October

Adam Copeland, better known to WWE fans as Edge, is set to make his Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling debut later this year as part of a special Canadian wrestling appearance.

Copeland is currently one-half of the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions alongside Christian Cage. The longtime friends and former rivals captured the championships by defeating FTR at Double or Nothing 2026 and have enjoyed a strong run with the titles.

Their next major challenge will come at AEW All In: London, where they are scheduled to defend their championships against The Young Bucks.

The WWE Hall of Famer will make his MLP debut at MLP Northern Rising on October 3 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Copeland recently appeared in a promotional video for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling and explained why he agreed to compete for the Canadian promotion despite being contracted to AEW.

The veteran credited AEW president Tony Khan for supporting the appearance and allowing professional wrestling to grow through partnerships between different promotions.

“I’m contracted with AEW. But the beautiful part about Tony Khan and his outlook in terms of pro wrestling is that he wants pro wrestling to flourish,” Copeland said.

He also explained that AEW and Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling have a partnership that made the appearance possible.

Copeland added that performing in Canada was personally important to him and suggested that he would have regretted ending his career without wrestling in the historic venue that holds special significance for him.

Why Maple Leaf Gardens is important to Adam Copeland

Copeland’s upcoming appearance has a strong connection to his wrestling ambitions in Canada. He previously described Maple Leaf Gardens as his personal “hallowed ground” and said he wanted to perform there before the end of his career.

The opportunity came after MLP founder Scott D’Amore contacted Copeland following an interview in which the AEW star discussed his desire to wrestle at the historic Canadian venue.

Copeland recalled D’Amore sending him a message and suggesting that they could make the appearance happen.

“The seeds for all of this coming to fruition started with Scott D’Amore seeing an interview that I did where I said my place, my hallowed ground that I have to perform in before I’m done is Maple Leaf Gardens,” Copeland explained.

He added that D’Amore reached out and the idea eventually developed into an official MLP appearance.

Copeland and D’Amore have developed a strong friendship over the years, and the MLP founder played an important role in bringing the AEW star to the promotion.

The relationship between AEW and MLP also helped create an opportunity for Copeland to compete outside AEW while remaining under contract with Tony Khan’s company.

For Copeland, the appearance is about more than simply adding another match to his résumé. It represents an opportunity to perform in an important part of Canadian wrestling history before his in-ring career eventually comes to an end.

Adam Copeland’s AEW future remains interesting

Copeland is now in his early 50s and has previously acknowledged the physical demands of professional wrestling. His appearance at MLP Northern Rising could therefore become an important moment as he approaches the later stages of his career.

Before then, Copeland remains focused on his AEW commitments. He and Christian Cage will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks at All In: London.

With his AEW title reign continuing and his MLP debut approaching, Copeland has several significant opportunities ahead before fans eventually see him step away from professional wrestling.
