It has finally been confirmed that Lionel Messi will visit India in December this year. The Argentine’s visit received its final seal of approval, according to reports, and the Inter Miami star will have a three-city tour, which will kickstart in Kolkata on December 12.

Known as the “GOAT Tour of India 2025,” Messi’s journey will also include stops in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi.

On December 15, the 2022 World Cup champion will also visit Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his home for the first time since 2011. He traveled to Kolkata in 2011 to play a friendly match against Venezuela at Salt Lake Stadium with his country’s national squad.

Promoter confirms Lionel Messi’s visit

The event’s promoter, Satadru Dutta, told PTI, “I obtained the authorization and then made it official (on social media).” Messi will upload the official poster with all the information and a brief synopsis of his trip on any day between August 28 and September 1.

Earlier this year, the promoter presented the plan to Messi’s father, who also serves as his agent. He also had a 45-minute discussion with Messi at his house on February 28. “I outlined the strategy and our goals. He stated that he was certain that it was worthwhile and that he would go.

Although it hasn’t been verified yet, it’s also rumored that Messi would go alongside his Inter Miami teammates Rodrigo De Paul, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets.

Messi is scheduled to arrive in Kolkata on December 12. There, he will stay for two days and one night. Dutta said, “He’s a lover of mate (Argentine herbal tea), so I am doing a fusion of Argentine and Indian Assam tea. This will be an extra addition, to be held on the sidelines of the meet-and-greet event on December 13 morning at his hotel (Taj Bengal).”

“All Bengali fish, including hilsa, and sweet delicacies will be there on the platter for the food festival.”

During the next Durga Puja, Messi’s mural will also be unveiled, and supporters will be able to leave notes. In addition to unveiling his largest monument to date, we will have a massive mural for him that is 25 feet high by 20 feet wide. It will be placed in key Durga Puja pandal-hopping spots, giving all of his followers the chance to paint and leave notes in a nearby message box. That mural will be presented to Messi when he’s inside the stadium for the GOAT Concert,” he said.
