After defeating Korea 4-1 at the Rajgir Sports Complex on Sunday, India was proclaimed the Asia Cup Rajgir, Bihar 2025 victors. The stadium was crowded, with many residents showing up to support the home team. India’s eight-year wait to win the crown has come to an end with this victory. India has advanced to the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2026, which will be held in the Netherlands and Belgium, thanks to this victory. Sukhjeet Singh (1′), Amit Rohidas (50′), and Dilpreet Singh (28′, 45′) all scored goals.

They haven’t won the Asia Cup since Dhaka in 2017. They currently have four Asia Cup victories altogether, second only to South Korea’s five. The only other team to win the tournament is Pakistan, which defeated India in 1982, 1985, and 1989 to earn the first three gold medals.

India has advanced to the Asia Cup finals the most times; this was their ninth overall appearance in the championship match after placing second in the first three, followed by 1994 and 2013. Pakistan has made it to the finals six times, compared to seven for Korea. It is important to note that Pakistan did not visit India this time. Malaysia won bronze for the second time, after winning it in 2017, after finishing third earlier in the day. Malaysia were left heartbroken by Korea on Saturday as they were minutes away from sealing their first visit to the final but crumbled from 3-1 ahead to lose 3-4. But on Sunday they prevailed against china, who were one of the surprise packages of Pakistan has made it to the finals six times, compared to seven for Korea. It is important to note that Pakistan did not visit India this time.

“Every game teaches you something new. The positive and negative are always present, as I mentioned. However, what counts is how quickly you analyze it, work on it, and put it into practice. Therefore, I believe we have performed admirably as a team defense. And the scoring we are seeing is very good. I think defence. Hockey India declared that players will receive INR 3 lakh each and support staff would receive INR 1.5 lakh after the hosts’ victory.
