During his off-season, star Indian batsman Virat Kohli is working hard at Lord’s in London in order to get ready for the ODI series against Australia. Since the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) ended, Kohli has taken a vacation from playing Test matches and One-Day Internationals. The great batter’s next scheduled appearance is in the three-match ODI series against Australia in October, therefore he will now just play ODIs.
Despite being away from the game, Kohli is still regular with his practice sessions to keep himself ready for international commitments. Outside the Lord’s Stadium training facilities, the star batter also posed for pictures with supporters.

India are set to take on Australia in three ODIs set to begin from October 19 in Perth. However, there have been rumors about his and Rohit Sharma’s retirement in the run-up to the series. The BCCI, however, has denied the rumors, stating that they are not in a rush to make a decision over the batting mainstays’ future.
Right-handed batter Swastik Chikara of Uttar Pradesh recently recounted a chat he had with Virat Kohli about the star batsman’s future ambitions in the IPL.
“Virat bhaiya said, ‘Jab tak Cricket khelunga, jab tak main poora fit hoon. Ye Impact Player ki tarah nahi khelunga. Main sher ki tarah khelunga (I will play cricket for as long as I am completely fit. I won’t play as an Impact Player. I will play like a lion. ‘ I will field for the full 20 overs and then bat. The day I have to play as an Impact Player, I will quit cricket’,” Swastik told RevSportz.
Kohli will need to continue to play well in the lead-up to the ODI World Cup 2027, which is two years away, since a number of young players have been establishing themselves internationally and arguing for their spots.
