Not a Galaxy S26 Edge? Samsung Prepares a Replacement – Here’s What the Galaxy S26 Plus Might Look Like

The samsung Galaxy S26 series appears to be undergoing final-stage modifications ahead of launch. As per industry sources, Samsung has reportedly discontinued the Galaxy S26 Edge due to lackluster sales performance. In its place, the company plans to retain and refine the Galaxy S26 Plus model, ensuring a balanced blend of performance, design, and premium feel.

A report from AndroidHeadlines has allegedly leaked official CAD renders of the Galaxy S26 Plus. These early visuals reveal that the device will carry forward the design language of the Galaxy S25 Plus but with subtle, refined updates. Most notably, the Galaxy S26 Plus is shown to feature a unified camera island that houses all three rear lenses, replacing the separated camera cutouts seen in previous generations. Additionally, the corners appear slightly more rounded, giving the phone a softer and more ergonomic appeal.

On the front, the device sports a flat AMOLED display with ultra-slim bezels for a cleaner, more immersive look. The leaked report suggests a 6.7-inch display size – identical to its predecessor – with a flat frame and mildly curved edges to enhance comfort during long usage.

The leaked renders showcase the device in two shades – classic white and a bold, vibrant orange that draws comparison to the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro. However, these colors are likely placeholders, and Samsung’s final official palette could differ at launch.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series: Expected Specifications

Beyond the new design, the Galaxy S26 lineup is expected to feature Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset for flagship-level performance. In select regions, Samsung may ship models powered by its in-house Exynos 2600 SoC, depending on the market.

Like the Plus model, both the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra will reportedly receive upgraded camera systems and enhanced AMOLED displays for sharper visuals and improved color reproduction. Interestingly, rumors suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra may include a built-in privacy screen – a feature aimed at protecting user confidentiality.

Battery capacity is also expected to see an improvement across the lineup. The base Galaxy S26 could pack a 4,300mAh unit, while the Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra may come with 4,900mAh and 5,400mAh batteries, respectively. These enhancements align with Samsung’s focus on better endurance and thermal performance in next-gen smartphones.

In addition to hardware upgrades, Samsung is said to be integrating more advanced AI features throughout the S26 series, focusing on camera optimization, scene recognition, and device personalization. While reports about the camera configurations remain mixed, the inclusion of AI-driven enhancements seems almost certain.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series: Expected Launch Date and Pricing

According to recent leaks, Samsung has postponed the Galaxy S26 series launch to February 25, 2026. This delay reportedly stems from the company’s internal decision to phase out the Edge variant and streamline its flagship lineup.

As for pricing, Samsung has yet to reveal official figures. However, industry watchers expect the pricing structure to remain largely consistent with the Galaxy S25 series. In India, the Galaxy S25 was introduced at a starting price of ₹80,999, and a similar price bracket is anticipated for the upcoming lineup.

With the Galaxy S26 Edge canceled and the Galaxy S26 Plus stepping into the spotlight, Samsung seems focused on refining practicality and performance rather than experimental form factors. If the leaked renders are accurate, the upcoming series could deliver a sophisticated, modern design while keeping Samsung’s flagship identity intact.
