- Meta and Oakley have released their non-limited edition smart glasses
- They’re up for preorder ahead of an August 26 release
- They start at $399 / £399 / AU$629
Prior to their August 26 release, all six of Oakley and Meta’s non-limited edition HSTN smart glasses are now available for preorder.
Importantly, we now have price for the smart specs as well. The cheapest pairs – black frame with clear lenses, or a warm gray frame with PRIZM ruby lenses – are $399 / £399 / AU$629, followed by $449 / £449 / AU$699 pairs – the black frames with PRIZM black polarized lenses, or brown smoke frames with PRIZM deep Water polarized lenses.
Because they cost the same as the brown smoke specs in other places, we believe that the current listing for the black with black polarized lenses in the UK is an error. We’ve reached out to Meta to get more information on this.
With the exception of the current limited edition Oakleys, the most costly two pairs are $479, £479, and $719. You can choose between a clear frame with clear to gray transition lenses or a black frame with clear to amethyst transition lenses because of this.

If not, the most costly two pairs, excluding the current limited edition Oakleys, cost $479, £479, or $719. There are two options available: a clear frame with clear to gray transition lenses or a black frame with clear to amethyst transition lenses.
There are three main reasons to purchase these Oakleys, but we’ll be testing a pair soon. Firstly, their sporty design.
Although the form of the frame is personal preference, Oakley’s PRIZM lenses are very useful for some sports. For example, because of the contrast they produce, the ruby lenses are said to be useful for activities like hiking and golf.
The on-device hardware comes next. Although the first-person camera isn’t the best, I’ve discovered that these kinds of devices are perfect for concerts and vacations since they allow you to record moments without losing yourself in the moment by viewing them on a phone screen. You can use the open-ear speakers to keep yourself present while listening to music.
Lastly, there are the benefits of Meta AI. For me, the on-glasses assistant has been an incredibly helpful tutor and tour guide. It can swiftly and accurately translate signs, and I’ve used it to understand more about places I’ve been to in Italy, including the buildings at Pompeii.
Lastly, you have Meta AI’s benefits. I have found the on-glasses version of the assistant to be a really helpful teacher and tour guide. I’ve used it to understand more about places I’ve been to in Italy, such as the buildings at Pompeii, and it can accurately and swiftly translate signage.
I’m not in a rush to get a pair, though, for one very important reason: my Ray-Ban smart glasses.
Although these glasses aren’t as athletic or have the Oakleys’ improved specs, they work perfectly for me. If you’re looking for something a little less expensive, the Ray-Bans start at $299, £299, or $449.
Despite being slightly more expensive, these Oakley glasses seem to be well worth your consideration if you haven’t already started using smart glasses. To determine which pairs you like most, I would suggest trying on a few pairs in a physical store.
