Xiaomi has expanded its flagship portfolio with the launch of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the fourth and most advanced model in the Xiaomi 17 series. Introduced in china on Thursday, the new handset succeeds the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which was launched earlier this year. With major upgrades across performance, battery life, display, and imaging, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is positioned as a power-packed premium smartphone aimed at photography enthusiasts and power users alike.

At the heart of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is Qualcomm’s latest flagship octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, built on an advanced 3nm manufacturing process. This cutting-edge processor promises improved efficiency, higher performance, and enhanced AI capabilities. One of the biggest highlights of the device is its Leica-tuned camera system, headlined by a massive 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and a 50-megapixel primary camera designed to deliver professional-grade photography.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Price in China and Availability

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has been launched in multiple configurations to cater to different user needs. The base variant, featuring 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, is priced at CNY 6,999 (approximately Rs. 90,000). The mid-tier model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage costs CNY 7,499, translating to roughly Rs. 96,000.

For users seeking maximum storage and performance, Xiaomi is also offering a top-end variant with 16GB RAM and 1TB of internal storage, priced at CNY 8,499 (around Rs. 1,09,000). This variant is aimed at professionals who rely heavily on storage-intensive tasks such as 4K video recording and high-resolution photography.

In addition, Xiaomi has introduced a special Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition. This premium edition is priced at CNY 7,999 (approximately Rs. 1,02,000) for the 16GB RAM + 512GB storage model, while the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage variant costs CNY 8,999 (about Rs. 1,15,000). The Leica Edition is available in elegant off-white and black colour options, appealing to users who value exclusivity and design.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will go on sale in China starting December 27 via the Xiaomi online store. Standard colour options include Black, White, Cold Smoky Purple, and Starry Green (translated from Chinese), offering a wide range of aesthetic choices.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra runs on HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16, delivering a refined user interface with enhanced Privacy features and system-level optimisations. The smartphone sports a large 6.9-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display protected by Dragon Crystal Glass 3. The panel supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz and offers peak brightness of up to 1,060 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under bright sunlight.
