Authorities have identified 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, a North Texas native with past arrests and possible ties to Oklahoma, as the gunman who opened fire at a Dallas ICE facility, killing two detainees and critically injuring another before taking his own life.
Following the assault at the ICE field office on Interstate 35 East close to Dallas Love Field airport, law enforcement officers verified Jahn’s identity. According to FBI investigations, anti-ICE inscriptions were found on seized ammo, including one cartridge that had the words “ANTI-ICE” scribbled on it.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated, “Hatred for ICE was the driving force behind this heinous attack.”

THE SUSPECT’S PAST
According to public records, FBI investigators were spotted investigating Jahn’s parents’ home on Wednesday afternoon in Fairview, a suburb of Collin County. Dallas Police Chief David Comeaux told KDFW that Jahn may also have been living in Durant, Oklahoma. “We are investigating that,” he stated.
According to Collin County records, Jahn was arrested for marijuana possession in 2015. A sign that said, “Radioactive fallout from nuclear formations that’ve passed over these areas more than 2x since 1951,” was seen on a car that was purportedly connected to him.
Noah, his older brother, told Reuters that there was no indication of political motivations in the family. Noah, a resident of McKinney, Texas, remarked, “I had no idea he had any political intent at all.” “I began to fear the worst when none of us were able to call him.”
RISING ANXIETY
No law enforcement officers were injured in the shooting. The detainees who were struck have not been publicly identified.
The incident is the latest in a string of assaults on immigration officials. “This marks the third gunshot in Texas that has been targeted at CBP or ICE. This must stop,” Sen. Ted Cruz said at a press conference.
Investigators are still looking into Jahn’s actions and potential connections to extremist organizations. But according to right-wing activist Laura Loomer, Jahn’s Facebook profile contained ANTIFA ties. “I looked into the background of Joshua Jahn, the Dallas, Texas, ICE shooter. ANTIFA and communist imagery may be seen in Joshua Jahn’s profile picture from his since-deleted Facebook page, Loomer wrote. Alongside the words GLORIOUS EXPOSITION, COMRADE, she said the picture showed “an armed communist with the hammer and sickle”. Jahn’s prior marijuana conviction was another thing that Loomer mentioned.
