
An uneasy calm prevailed in Nepal on Friday after days of violent anti-corruption protests led by Nepalese youth that have left 51 dead and hundreds injured. One Indian woman from Ghaziabad and three police personnel were among the deceased, cops said.
Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki of Nepal is expected to be named interim prime minister in the political void left by the overthrow of the KP Sharma Oli administration, according to reports. A second group has suggested former Nepal Electricity Authority chief Kulman Ghising for the top position, delaying her appointment due to factionalism among the protest movement’s de facto leaders.
Nepal’s Gen Z Test: Recent Advancements

- Meanwhile, India has started airlifting stranded citizens via special flights. Over 140 people from Andhra Pradesh were safely airlifted from Kathmandu. Several Indians also returned via the land border in Sonauli, Uttar Pradesh, and at Panitanki, Darjeeling.
