In the Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh, a government school headmaster was harassed and lost his temper during an Investigation after he was seen on camera beating a Basic Education Officer (BEO) with a belt inside his office, according to state minister Ashish Patel.
The assault incident was deemed “unfortunate” by Patel, the Uttar Pradesh Minister of Technical Education, who also emphasized that it was unjust to single-handedly accuse a teacher “based on a mere 20-second video clip.”
“The Sitapur assault incident is very regrettable,” he wrote in a Hindi post on X. Brijendra Verma, a diligent, truthful, and consistent student, was subjected to such harassment that he became irate. Blaming a teacher on the basis of a 20-second video clip is unjust.

“Strict measures should be taken against the person found guilty based on the examination of the CCTV footage from the moment he entered the BEO office until the very end. What conditions resulted in the instructor committing this offense? “The truth has to be exposed,” he continued.
BEO Akhilesh Pratap Singh was attacked by Verma, the headmaster, who was being investigated for allegedly abusing an assistant teacher. After a brief conversation with the education officer, Verma was seen on CCTV smashing a file on the table, taking off his belt, and hitting the officer repeatedly in his office.
The attack went on until office workers stepped in, took Verma into custody, and kept him inside the building.
Headmaster Verma attacked BEO Singh, who said he became angry after being accused of harassing one of his school’s assistant teachers and attacked him as a result.
The BEO called the headmaster into his office to address the problem after receiving a complaint about it. Singh had the assistant teacher and the headmaster face each other to start the investigation. “When everyone present indicated that the headmaster was guilty, he suddenly became enraged, took out his belt and attacked me,” he stated.
According to officials, the headmaster was turned over to police after the assault, and the BEO immediately removed him from his job.
