Prayagraj Teen Death Case: 17-Year-Old NDA Aspirant Found Hanging, Family Alleges Murder After Breakup

A tragic incident on Valentine’s Day has shocked Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, where a 17-year-old boy was found hanging at his residence following reported disputes with his girlfriend. While initial police findings suggest suicide, the victim’s family has strongly contested the claim, alleging foul play and demanding a thorough investigation.

The deceased has been identified as Aman Giri, an intermediate student who was preparing for the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination. According to preliminary information, Aman had been in a relationship for approximately eight months with a girl he met at a coaching centre where both were preparing for competitive exams.

Relationship Turmoil Preceded Incident

Sources indicate that the relationship had recently deteriorated. The girl reportedly expressed her desire to end the relationship, stating that she had developed feelings for someone else. The development allegedly led to repeated arguments between the two in the days leading up to the incident.

Police officials stated that upon receiving information about the matter, they reached the scene and recovered the body. A note was reportedly found indicating that the girl wished to end the relationship, which investigators are examining as part of the case.

Family Raises Questions, Alleges Murder

However, Aman’s family has rejected the suicide theory. His sister, Nidhi Giri, has publicly alleged that her brother did not take his own life and hinted at the possibility of murder. She indirectly accused the girl and one of Aman’s friends of being involved.

The victim’s uncle, Dhirendra Pratap Giri, questioned the circumstances under which the body was found. He claimed that the position of the body raised doubts about whether it was a case of suicide. According to him, the family believes the situation requires deeper forensic scrutiny.

The family has further alleged that Aman had been subjected to emotional pressure and possible blackmail. They claimed that he had handed over his mother’s jewellery under duress. Additionally, allegations were made that the boy had been assaulted and that his mobile phone had been taken by individuals linked to the girl.

Based on the family’s complaint, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into all angles, including abetment, coercion, and the possibility of homicide. Several individuals have reportedly been taken into custody for questioning.
