Tejashwi Yadav Predicts Mahagathbandhan Victory with 160+ Seats, Rejects Exit Polls Favoring NDA

RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial face, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, on Wednesday dismissed exit polls that predicted an edge for the NDA in Bihar. He asserted that the additional 76 lakh votes cast in this election represented a clear desire for change rather than continued support for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

“When the so-called exit poll results were coming in, people were still voting. This shows that these polls are merely a psychological attempt to influence the officials,” Tejashwi said while addressing reporters in Patna. He also expressed concern about the possibility of slow vote counting on the result day.

Tejashwi Confident of 160+ Seats for Mahagathbandhan

The RJD leader claimed that the Mahagathbandhan would win over 160 seats and that feedback from the ground had been extremely positive. “We have better pre-counting feedback than the Janata Dal received in 1995,” he remarked, recalling that despite limited support from pollsters that year, the EBC votes for Lalu Prasad had secured a clear majority for the party.

“These extra votes are for change, not for keeping Nitish Kumar in power,” Tejashwi emphasized, pointing out that in several opinion polls, Nitish Kumar failed to get even 18% preference as chief minister.

Ground Reports Indicate a Strong Anti-Incumbency Wave

Tejashwi highlighted that he had attended 85 public meetings across the state and witnessed a strong wave of discontent among women and young voters. “The mood on the ground clearly signals a desire for transformation,” he said. He also criticized the exit poll agencies for not disclosing the sample size of their surveys, questioning their credibility.

“The same exit polls had given the NDA over 400 seats in the 2024 lok Sabha elections. Everyone saw where they actually ended up. This time too, the real picture will surprise many,” he said confidently.

Results to Be Declared on Friday

The much-anticipated Bihar Assembly election results will be declared on Friday. While the NDA has expressed confidence in retaining power, the Mahagathbandhan, led by Tejashwi Yadav, believes a massive undercurrent of public anger and demand for change will propel them to victory.
