Alexa Bliss WWE return became a major talking point after the former Women’s Champion made her surprise in-ring comeback at a WWE live event on August 13.

WWE held the event in Manchester, New Hampshire, ahead of Friday Night SmackDown and the upcoming Money in the Bank premium live event. Bliss teamed with Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton in a six-woman tag team match against Fatal Influence.

Bliss had been absent from in-ring competition for more than a month following an attack by Jade Cargill on SmackDown. The Goddess was previously written off television after Cargill delivered a Jaded to Bliss, sending her crashing onto a steel chair.

After spending several weeks away from the weekly WWE product, Bliss returned to SmackDown and competed in the Queen of the Ring tournament. However, her rivalry with Cargill continued to cause problems.

Last month, Bliss faced Cargill again on SmackDown. Following the match, Cargill targeted Bliss’s arm with a steel chair, forcing the multi-time Women’s Champion to spend more time away from in-ring action.

Bliss recently returned alongside Tatum Paxley

Alexa Bliss had already made her presence felt on SmackDown last week when she appeared alongside Tatum Paxley. The duo assisted Charlotte Flair during her confrontation with Jade Cargill.

That appearance suggested that WWE could be preparing a new storyline involving Bliss and Paxley. However, Bliss’s return to actual competition came sooner than many fans expected.

At the Manchester live event, Bliss, Flair and Stratton joined forces against Fatal Influence in a six-woman tag team match. The appearance marked Bliss’s first in-ring match in more than a month.

Bliss and Charlotte Flair have shared a notable history as a WWE tag team. Their partnership developed through backstage segments on Friday Night SmackDown before they officially joined forces in the women’s tag team division.

At SummerSlam 2025, Bliss and Flair defeated Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez of The Judgment Day to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Their championship reign lasted 100 days before the Kabuki Warriors defeated them for the titles. The two stars later received another opportunity at WrestleMania 42 in a Fatal 4-Way tag team match but failed to regain the championship.

Bliss’s return adds another layer to the women’s division heading into Money in the Bank. Her connection with Tatum Paxley could also lead to a new tag team storyline in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Flair has increasingly focused on Jade Cargill, while Bliss has now returned to active competition. This could signal that the partnership between Flair and Bliss is gradually approaching its conclusion.
