Gary Neville Backs Arsenal to Win 2026-27 Premier League Title After Bruno Guimaraes Signing

Gary Neville has backed Arsenal to win the 2026-27 Premier League title, with the Manchester United legend highlighting the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes as a potentially decisive addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Arsenal completed the signing of Guimaraes from Newcastle United on August 8 for a reported £75 million transfer fee, with the Brazilian midfielder agreeing to a four-year contract.

Neville was already backing Arsenal to retain their Premier League crown, but he believes Guimaraes’ arrival has made the Gunners even stronger heading into the new campaign.

Speaking on The Overlap, Neville said:

“I would have backed Arsenal for the Premier League anyway but I think the Bruno Guimaraes signing just secures the title for Arsenal.”

He also praised the midfielder’s personality, leadership and quality, describing the transfer as a major signing for the north London club.

Guimaraes arrives at Arsenal after four highly productive seasons with Newcastle United. During his time at St James’ Park, the midfielder made 195 appearances across all competitions, scoring 31 goals and providing 32 assists.

The 28-year-old also played an important role in Newcastle’s progress, helping the club return to the UEFA Champions League and contributing to their Carabao Cup success last season.

For Arsenal, his arrival adds another experienced and competitive presence to the midfield. Guimaraes is capable of contributing defensively while also helping his team progress the ball and control the tempo of matches.

Neville particularly highlighted the Brazilian’s character and personality, suggesting that his influence could extend beyond his technical ability.

“I love him, he’s a massive, massive character and personality. I think that’s a massive addition,” Neville said.

The former Manchester United defender also described Guimaraes as a brilliant player and labelled the £75 million deal a major piece of business for Arsenal.

Yildiz has impressed during his time at Juventus, recording 27 goals and 21 assists in 131 appearances across all competitions over the past three seasons.

Arsenal’s interest could be linked to their desire to add more attacking quality following the arrival of Tzolis.
