Paige is set to return to WWE SmackDown next week after confirming that she will confront Nikki Bella following the shocking betrayal that ended their alliance at SummerSlam 2026.
The former WWE Women’s Champion was involved in a major six-woman tag team match at SummerSlam, where she teamed with Nikki and Brie Bella against Fatal Influence. However, the match ended in controversy when the Bella Twins turned on Paige after their defeat.
Paige Responds to Nikki Bella’s SummerSlam Betrayal
Nikki Bella addressed her actions through a video package that aired on SmackDown. The former Divas Champion claimed that she helped revive Paige’s career by giving her an opportunity to compete at WrestleMania 42.
Nikki also blamed Paige for the loss at SummerSlam, suggesting that the defeat was the final straw in their partnership.
Paige quickly responded on social media and rejected Nikki’s version of events. The Anti-Diva pointed out that she had saved Nikki from being pinned twice during their SummerSlam match and reminded her former partner that she was the one who won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania.
“I saved your a*s from getting pinned twice at SummerSlam.. I’m also the one who WON those championships. I’ll be back next week. You haven’t seen anything yet babe,” Paige wrote.
With Paige now confirmed to appear on next week’s SmackDown, fans can expect the former champion to address Nikki’s betrayal and potentially set up a singles showdown between the two stars.
Paige Successfully Returned to WWE at WrestleMania 42
Paige made her WWE return at WrestleMania 42 after leaving the company in 2022. She immediately became involved in the women’s tag team division, teaming with Brie Bella to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
The victory marked the fourth WWE championship of Paige’s career and provided a memorable start to her latest run with the company.
Paige Reveals Details About Her WWE Comeback
Despite the success of her WrestleMania return, Paige previously revealed that she had very little time to prepare for the match.
The former champion explained that her manager informed her about a busy schedule shortly before WrestleMania, leaving her with limited opportunities to get into the ring before the event.
Paige said that rehearsals helped her prepare, although she was initially relieved that she would not have to do too much during the match. Despite the limited preparation, she and Brie Bella ultimately captured the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
With Brie Bella currently sidelined due to injury, Paige appears set to move into a singles program with Nikki Bella. Their upcoming confrontation on SmackDown could be the first major step toward a personal rivalry between the former partners.
