Moscow: In a fresh escalation of the ongoing Russia–Ukraine conflict, authorities in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region confirmed that a Ukrainian drone strike targeted the Tuapse port overnight, igniting a fire and damaging an oil tanker and port facilities.

According to an official statement from the Krasnodar regional administration posted on Telegram, “Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fragments fell on an oil tanker in the port of Tuapse, damaging the deck superstructure.” The post further added, “A fire broke out on the ship, and the crew was safely evacuated.”

The Tuapse oil terminal, operated under Rosneft control, plays a crucial role in handling both refined petroleum and crude oil shipments from southern Russia to global Markets.
