Bacary Sagna Urges Bradley Barcola to Reject Liverpool Transfer Move

Bradley Barcola has been advised to reject a potential move to Liverpool by former Arsenal and Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna. The Paris Saint-Germain winger has emerged as one of the Premier League club’s major transfer targets as Liverpool look to strengthen their attack following Mohamed Salah’s departure.

Barcola has reportedly attracted strong interest from Liverpool, with recent reports suggesting that the two clubs have reached a verbal agreement over a possible transfer. However, Sagna believes the move may not be the right career decision for the France international at this stage.

Speaking to The Action Network, as cited by Tribal Football, Sagna questioned whether joining Liverpool immediately would benefit Barcola after the winger’s success with PSG.

“Liverpool didn’t have the best season last year, for different reasons of course. For him, to join the team now, I don’t think it would be a good career choice, especially after winning so much with Paris,” Sagna said.

Sagna questions timing of Barcola’s potential Liverpool transfer

Sagna acknowledged Liverpool’s stature in English football but suggested that the club are still rebuilding after a difficult campaign. According to the former defender, Barcola could benefit from remaining in an environment where he has already enjoyed significant success.

“Liverpool is one of the most important and respected English clubs. To play for them is something special. But the team seems to be a bit sick and recovering from the last season they had. They will get back to their best but I’m not sure a move right now is the best one for Barcola,” Sagna added.

The comments come as Liverpool continue to reshape their attacking options. With Salah no longer part of the squad, the Reds are looking for players capable of providing pace, creativity and goals from wide areas.

Liverpool reportedly closing in on Barcola deal

Despite Sagna’s warning, Liverpool and Barcola appear to be moving closer to an agreement. Reports claim that the Reds could pay a total package of around €140 million for the French winger, with an initial fee of approximately €116 million reportedly heading to PSG.
