
Shashank Singh FIR case has become a major talking point after a criminal case was registered against the Punjab Kings batter, his father and their driver over allegations of assault on a cook at their Bhopal residence.
According to reports, the FIR was filed at Ratibad Police Station in Bhopal after cook Vipendra Singh Tomar accused Shashank Singh and others of physical assault, verbal abuse and wrongful confinement. The complainant claimed that he was working at the family residence in Mendori village.
Cook alleges assault and harassment
The cook alleged that he faced harassment after complaints were raised about the food he prepared. He further claimed that when he decided to leave the job and return home, the situation escalated.
Vipendra Singh Tomar alleged that his mobile phone was taken away to stop him from contacting anyone and that he locked himself in a room for protection. He claimed that Shashank Singh, his father and driver later broke into the room and assaulted him.
Police investigation and charges
Police conducted a medical examination of the complainant on June 29, which reportedly showed injury marks on his face and body. A case has been registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including allegations related to assault, obscene acts and joint criminal liability.
The FIR names Shashank Singh, his father Shailesh Singh and the driver as accused. Shashank Singh has not yet issued an official statement regarding the allegations.
Shashank Singh’s cricket career
Shashank Singh was last seen playing for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2026 season. The batter has emerged as an important player for the franchise and was appointed as the team’s vice-captain.
