Genshin Impact 7.2 Maintenance Schedule

As part of the standard update process, HoYoverse will take all Genshin Impact servers offline before Version 7.2 goes live. The maintenance window is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. (UTC+8) on November 4 and is expected to last five hours.

During maintenance, players will not be able to log in, complete quests, explore the world or access other in-game activities. Once the scheduled work is finished, the servers will reopen with the new version available.

Players should plan their in-game activities accordingly and avoid leaving important tasks unfinished just before the maintenance period begins. It is also worth downloading the available pre-installation files in advance to reduce the amount of data that needs to be downloaded after the update becomes available.

What Is New in Genshin Impact Version 7.2?

Genshin Impact Version 7.2 is titled Hour of Ruin and will introduce several additions to the game. The update will continue the main story in Snezhnaya, giving players two new Archon Quests to experience.

Alongside the story content, HoYoverse will introduce a brand-new map, expanding the areas available for exploration. The update will also add two new playable Electro characters, giving players additional options when building their teams.

Two New Electro Characters: Mitya and Valeriy

One of the major attractions of Version 7.2 is the arrival of Mitya and Valeriy. Mitya is a new five-star Electro character, while Valeriy will join the roster as a four-star Electro unit.

Their arrival will give players two new characters to consider when planning their teams and spending their in-game resources. Mitya’s debut banner will be part of the first phase of the Version 7.2 event wishes, with Valeriy featured alongside the five-star character.

New Archon Quests and Snezhnaya Story Progression

The update will further develop Genshin Impact’s main storyline in Snezhnaya through two new Archon Quests. Players following the central narrative will have new story content to explore after downloading Version 7.2.

The addition of a new map will also provide another area for players to discover. Together, the new quests, exploration content and playable characters make Hour of Ruin an important update for those following the game’s ongoing story.

Genshin Impact 7.2 Phase 1 Event Banners

Phase 1 of the Version 7.2 event banners will begin with the debut banner for Mitya, the new five-star Electro character. The banner will feature Valeriy as a four-star character, giving players an opportunity to obtain both new units through the event wish system.

The first phase will also include a rerun banner for Furina. Players who have been waiting for another opportunity to obtain Furina will therefore have a chance to make wishes during the opening phase of the update.

Players should review the banner details and their available Primogems before spending resources. Those interested in Mitya, Valeriy or Furina may want to plan their wishes carefully, particularly if they are saving for characters expected in later updates.

Genshin Impact 7.2 Pre-Installation Is Now Available

Players do not have to wait until the maintenance window to begin preparing for Version 7.2. The pre-installation feature is already open, allowing players to download part of the upcoming patch before the official release.

Pre-installation can help reduce the amount of data that needs to be downloaded after the servers return online. This can be especially useful for players with slower internet connections or those who want to enter the game as soon as maintenance is completed.

However, pre-installation does not allow players to access Version 7.2 early. The game will remain unavailable during scheduled maintenance, and the new content will become playable only after the servers reopen and the update goes live.

What Should Players Do Before the Version 7.2 Release?

With the update approaching, players can take a few simple steps to prepare for the launch. Downloading the pre-installation files is one of the most useful ways to reduce waiting time after maintenance.

• Pre-install the update: Download the available patch files before November 4.
• Check the maintenance schedule: Remember that servers are expected to go offline at 6:00 a.m. (UTC+8).
• Plan your playtime: Avoid scheduling important in-game activities during the five-hour maintenance window.
• Review the event banners: Check the Mitya debut banner, Valeriy’s featured appearance and Furina’s rerun before spending Primogems.
• Prepare for new content: Make time for the two new Archon Quests and the additional map arriving with Hour of Ruin.
