Kevin Owens has reflected on his remarkable WWE career as he prepares for a major return to action against CM Punk for the top championship in front of his hometown crowd.
Owens is currently in the middle of a highly anticipated WWE comeback after an injury that raised concerns about whether he would ever be able to compete in the ring again. With his future still uncertain, the veteran Superstar has shared his thoughts on what he wants from the next chapter of his career.
Kevin Owens reflects on his incredible WWE career
Speaking to Faces Magazine, Kevin Owens looked back at everything he has accomplished throughout his WWE career. The former world champion admitted that he sometimes failed to appreciate important moments because he was too focused on what came next.
Owens explained that he had achieved things he never expected to accomplish and had experienced opportunities that many wrestlers never receive.
“I had this incredible career, I did things I never thought I would do, I did things that a lot of people will never get to do. Through it all, I would lose perspective, and sometimes I wouldn’t take the time to enjoy those moments as much as I should have,” Owens said.
The WWE Superstar added that his perspective has changed following the uncertainty surrounding his injury and future.
“I don’t want to do that anymore. And now, every match I have, every show I’m on now, is a gift, because for a long time, I didn’t think it would happen again,” he added.
Owens wants to enjoy every moment of his career
Kevin Owens admitted that he does not know exactly how much longer he will continue wrestling. Rather than focusing on the number of years remaining, the veteran wants to appreciate every opportunity he gets inside the WWE ring.
Owens said that he could have one year, two years, five years, or an entirely different amount of time left in his career. Because of that uncertainty, he wants to make the most of every match and show.
“So, all I want to do is just enjoy every second I can of it. Because, I don’t know, maybe there’s one more year, two more years, five more years, I really don’t know,” Owens said.
He also explained that he wants to carry as many positive memories with him as possible when his wrestling career eventually comes to an end.
“But I’ll just try to make sure I keep as much as I can with me, so when it’s done, it’s done, but I have all these great things to look back on,” he added.
Kevin Owens prepares for huge match against CM Punk
Owens now has an enormous opportunity waiting for him as he prepares to face CM Punk for the top championship in front of his hometown supporters.
A victory would give Owens an emotional start to this latest chapter of his WWE career, particularly after the injury concerns that previously threatened to keep him away from competition.
With Owens determined to appreciate every moment of his comeback, a potential championship victory in Toronto could become one of the most memorable moments of his career.
