NBA players have increasingly found ways to build their personal brands beyond the Basketball court, and podcasting has become one of the most popular options. The format allows current and former players to speak directly to fans while discussing basketball, trades, personalities, culture and their experiences inside the league.

Several NBA stars have gone beyond simply appearing as guests on podcasts. They have launched their own shows, built dedicated audiences and created media platforms that continue to attract millions of views and listeners.

From former champions to current stars, here are 10 NBA players who have established successful podcasts or podcasting projects.

10. Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller – The OGs

Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller began their podcasting partnership in 2023 after teaming up with Playmaker HQ to launch The OGs.

The two former Miami Heat teammates brought years of NBA experience to the microphone, creating a natural chemistry that became one of the show’s biggest strengths. Their discussions cover NBA players, trades, league stories and topics surrounding basketball culture.

Haslem spent his entire NBA career with the Miami Heat and became one of the most recognizable veteran figures in franchise history. Miller also enjoyed a long NBA career and won championships during his playing days.

The combination of their playing experience and relaxed conversations has helped The OGs develop a significant online audience.

The podcast has more than 131,000 YouTube subscribers and is also available through major audio platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart and Google Podcasts.

9. Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart – The Roommates Show

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart turned their real-life friendship into a successful media project with The Roommates Show, which they launched in 2024 alongside co-host Matt Hillman.

The Knicks teammates have used the show to give fans a different perspective on life inside the NBA. Their chemistry is central to the podcast, with conversations often extending beyond traditional basketball analysis.

Both Brunson and Hart have established themselves as important members of the New York Knicks, while their podcast has created another way for supporters to follow their personalities away from games.

The Roommates Show has more than 190,000 YouTube subscribers. The hosts have also taken the podcast into the live-event space, including a live show at Randall’s Island Park in New York on September 24.

The project demonstrates how NBA teammates can use their existing relationship to create a media brand with an audience separate from basketball games.

8. Kevin Garnett – KG Certified

Kevin Garnett brought his intense personality and decades of basketball experience to podcasting when he launched KG Certified with Showtime Basketball in 2022.

The former Boston Celtics superstar has spent much of his post-playing career discussing basketball and working in sports media, making podcasting a natural extension of his broadcasting work.

Garnett frequently welcomes former players and basketball personalities to the show. His long relationship with former Celtics teammate Paul Pierce has also contributed to some memorable conversations.

The podcast’s first episode arrived in January 2022 as an MLK Day special, establishing the format that would later develop into a regular basketball discussion platform.

KG Certified has more than 265,000 YouTube subscribers and is also available through Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other podcast platforms.

7. Draymond Green – The Draymond Green Show

Draymond Green entered podcasting in 2021 with The Draymond Green Show, creating a platform where the Golden State Warriors star could discuss the NBA from the perspective of an active player.

That perspective has become one of the show’s defining features. Green can discuss current league developments while still being directly involved in the competition, giving listeners access to opinions shaped by his own experiences.

The Warriors forward regularly discusses games, players, major league developments and the biggest stories surrounding the NBA season.

What began as a side project has developed into a substantial media platform. Green has increasingly invested time in the show, particularly during the NBA season when the league provides a constant supply of topics.

The podcast has more than 269,000 YouTube subscribers and is also available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

6. Shaquille O’Neal – The BIG Podcast with Shaq

Few NBA personalities have made a bigger transition from basketball to entertainment and broadcasting than Shaquille O’Neal.

The four-time NBA champion launched The BIG Podcast with Shaq in 2015, using his larger-than-life personality and extensive experience in basketball media to create another platform for conversations with athletes and celebrities.

O’Neal later relaunched the podcast with Playmaker HQ in 2023. The project benefited from his existing profile as a former Lakers superstar and longtime television personality.
